Remodeling Costs vs. Value

HomeTech Information Systems has compiled 2009-2010 cost versus value data for a number of common home improvement projects.  Cost data was gathered from contractors around the country and estimated resale values for the same projects were gathered from appraisers and real estate professionals.  The national averages were then adjusted for regional cost variations.  In total, over 6,000 respondents provided this helpful data.  The data provides estimates of the amount of the home improvement project cost a homeowner may expect to recoup when they sell their home.  Some examples include, bathroom remodel (52% to 65%), kitchen remodel (57% to 67%), adding a deck (73% to 83%), adding a main floor family room (60%), roof replacement (51%), new windows (65%) and cement fiber siding (73%).
