First Quarter MLS Statistics Released

Residential sales activity for the first quarter of 2009 has been released by the Wichita Area Association of Realtors. The total number of residential sales for January through March 2009 was 1,520 homes versus 2,209 for the same period in 2008. The 31% decrease reflects a slow down in the overall economy, tighter credit and a decrease in consumer confidence. While the decrease has been substantial, Wichita results are favorable when compared with many other areas of the country.
